David J. Freedman, DPM, CPC, CPMA, CSFAC
Education Background:       Dr. Freedman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Syracuse University in 1982. He successfully completed his medical education from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1986 and his Podiatric Surgical residency at the Kessler Memorial Hospital in 1987.
Coding Experience:     Since 1986.
Medical Auditing Experience: Since 2003.                            
Certification:  Certified Professional Coder (CPC) 2007; Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) in 2010; Certified Surgical Foot and Ankle Coder (CSFAC) in 2012.

He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and a Fellow, American Society of Podiatric Surgeons (FASPS), a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) by the American Academy of Wound Management, a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and a Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) and Certified Surgical Foot and Ankle Coder(CSFAC). He is Vice-President of Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC, a single specialty private large group practice. in the Washington, DC-Baltimore area.  He is a past President of the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, He is a past Vice-President of the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, Past Chairman, 9th and 10th Annual CAC/PIAC meeting American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), a coding committee member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) since 2005, Team Manager ICD 10 for APMA since 2010, CAC Podiatry Representative for Maryland. A resident of Olney, MD, Dr. Freedman is married and has four children.  He is active in our community by supporting various organizations such as Olney Boys and Girls Club’s various activities.

Gary L Chan, MD, CPC, CPMA
Education Background:     Dr. Chan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in June 1972. Went to Tufts University School of Medicine from 1972 to 1976. I did his Internal Medicine internship and residency in Los Angeles at St Mary’s Medical Center in Long Beach and Harbor-UCLA in Torrence, California from 1976 to 1979. Has been in private practice here in San Francisco since 1981. Has done medical review for Blue Shield and been a Medical Director for the largest IPA in S.F. for a number of years.

Certification:  Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in November 2007  from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)  in June 2010  from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) . Dr. Chan is a resident of Tiburon, California.
